LGBT+ Adoption & Fostering Week
New Family Social's flagship campaign to encourage more LGBT+ adopters and foster carers
Our 2020 campaign asked LGBT+ people in the UK you 'Why not you?'
In 2019 there were 78,150 looked after children in England, an increase of four per cent from 2018.
There’s an ongoing need for more people to provide foster care across the UK and for more people to consider adoption.
Despite a record proportion of same-sex couples adopting in England, with 1 in 7 adoptions in England to same-sex couples in 2019, LGBT+ people still report high expectations of discrimination from foster and adoption agencies.
To counter this, LGBT+ Adoption & Fostering Week is a unique opportunity for agencies across the UK to come together and encourage more LGBT+ people to consider both pathways to parenting.
The campaign takes place every year and has seen record numbers of LGBT+ people successfully follow adoption and fostering as the route to growing their family.
The campaign featured generic artwork with a diverse range of images.
