Kent charity hosts adoption and fostering event in Chatham [02 November, 2026]

2 Nov 2026 14:25 | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Diagrama Foundation invites people in Kent to find out more about adoption and fostering at a free, in-person information event at Sun Pier House in Chatham.

The relaxed event offers an opportunity to meet the team, ask questions and discover how adoption or fostering could make a lasting difference to a child or young person’s life.

As a registered UK charity, Diagrama Foundation operates a voluntary adoption agency and not-for-profit fostering service. The team's keen to meet potential adoptive parents and foster carers in the local area and help people understand the opportunities available to them.

Kate Patel, Head of Adoption and Fostering at Diagrama Foundation, said: 'People sometimes assume that adoption or fostering is only an option for certain types of family, but we want everyone who is interested to feel welcome to come along and find out more. Whether you are single, part of a couple or have a family of your own, we would be delighted to talk to you about the possibilities.

'Choosing to adopt or foster is a significant decision, and we want people to feel comfortable asking questions and finding out what is involved, without any pressure or expectation.

'As a voluntary adoption agency and not-for-profit fostering organisation, our focus is on helping children and young people find the safe, stable and loving families they need. We also recognise the importance of supporting adoptive parents and foster carers throughout their journey.

'We would encourage anyone who has ever wondered whether adoption or fostering might be right for them to come along, enjoy a coffee and have an informal chat with our friendly team. You don’t need to have all the answers before you arrive – we’re here to help you explore your options.'

There's no formal presentation to attend, and visitors don't need to stay for the whole event. Individuals, couples and families are all welcome, and visitors can bring other family members, including children, as Sun Pier House is a child-friendly venue.

The event's an opportunity to learn more about the process, discuss any concerns and discover what support is available throughout the adoption or fostering journey.
